Join Today!

Anyone who is 50 or older, whether they are working or retired, can join AARP for $16 per year. I know this because they sent me a membership card and requested that I send them my $16 check immediately to activate my exciting benefits as an AARP member.

I will say one thing: I look damn good for someone who is 50 or older.

  1. I know this sounds rediculous, but after watching all of the awesome commercials for AARP memberships and benefits, I can't WAIT to be 50. Doesn't that just sound insane!?

  2. Why wait? I'm only 34, so it doesn't sound insane at all. Join today!

  4. Ah, but were they pre-approved members? I feel like I hit the jackpot! Not that I sent my $16 in. My fear is that once I write a check, they'll discover my age, deny me membership and its exciting benefits, and cash the check anyway.

  5. I started getting AARP junk mail when I was a tween. I think it was because of the embroidery catalog mailing lists I was on.

  6. That is totally awesome. Right now, I get catalogs from Oriental Trading Company (junky crafts, mostly for kids), LL Bean, Lands' End, Eddie Bauer, Champion, Delia's, some Delia's spin off, Room & Board, and Ethan Allen. It's quite the mix. I'm thinking maybe LL Bean or Lands' End might be the connector.
