And Your Point Is?
As I was washing my hands after using the facilities at Bugaboo Magazine, I remembered something disturbing the infectious disease doctor said to me this morning. He was telling me about some sort of food-borne illness and said that people who are exposed to it should wash their hands after using the bathroom. To which I replied, "Shouldn't they be doing that anyway?" And I swear he stared at me like I was an idiot.

Not that this has anything to do with what you posted, but I just opened my web browser to find, blown up for all to see on The New York Times site, that Anna Nicole Smith has died!
ReplyDeleteI recognize the importance of our mourning the loss of a former Playboy Playmate and trashy reality TV star, but c'mon. Surely more important things are going on in the world...?
I am fascinated by infectious disease (especially staph) and read an article about one of the problems in hospital-related infections is that docs fail to wash their hands. They think of others as dirty - it couldn't be them! They are far too superior for germs to linger.
ReplyDeleteI read an article similar to Rebecca's AND Suebob's. It was 2 different articles, actually. 1 saying that Anna is dead. 1 saying that hospitals have come to rely too much on liquid hand sanitizer, when sometimes their hands just need a good scrubbing.
ReplyDeletePoint is, wash your hands after learning about Anna's death. Especially while in a hospital.
super des is so right. I washed my hands as soon as I heard Anna had died..
ReplyDeleteummm, hello captian obvious..
ReplyDeleteHi just saw a show the other day on how doctors are the worst for not washing their hands: (that'd be MarketPlace on CBC). Disgusting!
