Today is one of my least favorite "holidays," Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day (aka VD) is a highly transferable disease that leads people to lose their heads, spend crazy amounts of money on cards, chocolates, and dinner. All these crazy notions about love conquering all and other shit then causes folks forget to use protection when they consummate the deal later, leading to the spread of VD (aka venereal disease) and unplanned pregnancy. Bah.
Seriously, be careful out there. VD is like Dick Cheney on a hunting trip: you never know when it can shoot you in the face.
Ain’t I romantic?

Seriously. I insist on going Dutch whenever I take someone out on Valentine's Day. It helps us remove the financial pressures and focus on the romance.
ReplyDeleteI accidently wore pink today... I can't believe I actually wore pink on Valentines. So to off-set the festiveness of my accident, I am listening to only NIN all day long.
ReplyDeleteTra la! I wore pink on purpose, I'm wearing pink socks with ladybugs and hearts that say "love bug" and I have heart earrings AND a necklace. I'm a teacher, so I get a pass. I have multiple pairs of Christmas socks, too.
ReplyDeleteGiven that I married a sentimental, romantic man prone to obsessive observance of holidays that he can pin on our relationship (one of his only annoying characteristics), I had to at least get him a card. Fortunately, London cards rock! I was able to find one that said, with no hearts or flowers anywhere,
ReplyDelete"I don't believe in Valentine's Day because I love you all year 'round. But here's a card anyway."
